Job Summary
Toaster is seeking an experienced and dynamic Full-Stack Technical Lead to spearhead the technical delivery of cutting-edge web and mobile applications from our New Delhi office. In this pivotal role, you will lead and mentor a team of skilled developers, driving technical strategy while ensuring the successful execution and delivery of innovative digital projects.
As a true full-stack expert, you will orchestrate the entire development lifecycle – from architecting robust front-end solutions using modern frameworks like React, building scalable back-end systems with Node.js or Python, and implementing robust cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices. Your deep technical expertise, coupled with your leadership abilities, will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, secure, and performant solutions that exceed client expectations.

What you’ll be doing
Lead and mentor a team of developers, ensuring they are set up for success, following best practices, coding standards, and efficient workflows for successful project delivery.
Deliver high-quality, efficient solutions as a hands-on developer, working across the entire stack: front-end (HTML, CSS, JS/TS, frameworks), back-end (Node.js, Python) and infrastructure (cloud hosting, CI/CD).
Perform code reviews, pair programming and train internal and external developers to Toaster Tech's high standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, producers and stakeholders, to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Participate in client meetings, presentations, and workshops, providing technical guidance and expertise.
Work with EMEA/US Technical Director to resource and build out tech teams to deliver against incoming contracts.
Architect and design robust, scalable, and maintainable web and mobile applications using modern technologies.
Implement and maintain continuous integration and deployment processes, ensuring seamless delivery and monitoring of applications.
Contribute to the development of in-house tools, libraries, and frameworks.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices.
Inputting statements of work for tech projects with accurate cost and time estimates.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge-sharing within the technical team.
What you’ll bring
Extensive professional development experience of 9+ years in building highly scalable and secure web and mobile applications, with at least 2+ years serving as a lead/principal developer.
Proven full-stack expertise spanning frontend (JS/TS), backend (Node, Python), with hands-on proficiency in modern frameworks/technologies like React, Next, Redux, Vue etc.
Experienced in deploying, hosting, securing, monitoring and scaling on at least one of the major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). Deeper knowledge of GCP (App Engine, APIs, etc) is particularly desirable.
Proficient in DevOps tools and methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
Deep understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and their appropriate application.
Experience with database design and management, leveraging both SQL and NoSQL databases based on use case requirements.
Knowledge of API design, integration, testing, and implementation, including RESTful and GraphQL APIs, as well as familiarity with other enterprise integration patterns.
Solid grounding in UX/UI principles, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, SEO, performance, mobile-first design, and development standards.
Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, CSS pre/post-processors, and implementing responsive, pixel-perfect user interfaces.
Strong advocacy for automated testing methodologies and tools, deeply ingrained as a core development practice across projects.
Familiarity with security principles and their application in web applications, version control systems, and associated best practices.
Experience working within and leading development teams in agile environments (e.g. Scrum/Kanban).
Strong people management skills, adept at mentoring and developing engineering teams. You set clear goals, provide constructive feedback, and have the ability to navigate challenging conversations when needed, fostering an environment of continuous growth and improvement.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills to break down and tackle complex technical challenges, assess issues, find solutions, and drive improvements across projects in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
